Newly promoted Newcastle United will look to bolster their defensive options by attempting to sign Arsenal left back Kieran Gibbs, according to Football London.
Gibbs only made 10 Premier League appearances for the Gunners last campaign and with the imminent arrival of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke, the full back looks set to be third choice left back, meaning he’s more than likely heading out of the Emirates after a 13-year spell with the club.
The 27-year-old is a target for a number of Premier League sides including West Brom whose boss Tony Pulis is apparently a big fan of the full-back but the Magpies look favourites to land the England international and are not put off by the reported £15m asking fee.
Rafa Benitez looks keen to securing Gibbs’ signature as he attempts to re-establish Newcastle as a Premier League side once again after snatching the title on the final day of the season in the Championship.
