Simon Cowell has joked that his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman is "lucky" to have found him.

The 54-year-old music mogul, whose girlfriend is expecting their first child together, reportedly made the claim during a tongue-in-cheek speech at Lauren's baby shower at his Beverly Hills home on Sunday (08.12.13).
Lauren invited 40 of her and Simon's pals, including his ex-girlfriends Terri Seymour and Mezhgan Hussainy, to the lavish event where 'The X Factor' star boasted about the riches he has enjoyed following the success of his band One Direction around the world.
He quipped: "I would like to say a big thank you to One Direction as without them you would all be eating sausage rolls tonight."
Guests enjoyed expensive treats such as foie gras at the afternoon baby shower and Simon also took the time to pay tribute to his pregnant partner - but couldn't resist a cheeky nod to himself.
He said: "It's been a difficult year in many ways but now I'm really excited about next year and seeing the birth of little Simon, due at the end of February.
"I would like to say a special thank you to Lauren for all she's done to help change my life.
"I think she is a very lucky girl to have found me."
According to The Sun newspaper, the event took place in a specially erected marquee behind Simon's mansion and members of Simon's family who flew in from the United Kingdom joined the couple.
Lauren said: "It's so nice to have his family over here to make it such a special night. We can now look forward to a new future together."
